I’m thankful for SO many things this year, but e I’m thankful for SO many things this year, but especially the newfound sense of calm and the ease of accepting imperfection I’m embracing as we move into this holiday season. It might be one of the top things on my list. The odd sense of calm and surrender feels foreign to me; it literally made me pause last night when things didn’t exactly go to plan. No stress? No holding back frustrated words? Who am I?!? 🎄The tree stand I bought didn’t arrive on time. 🎄The substitute stand I rushed to pick up wouldn’t hold our tree up. 🎄Alllllll the Christmas lights I bought last year are unfathomably dead. Needless to say, our “night-before-Thanksgiving tree trimming tradition” didn’t go as planned. But we got a beautiful tree and had a nice conversation with the man at the lot. We finally got a picture of our entire family (it’s been awhile…). And we watched Home Alone in the substitute glow of a “backup tree” I set beside the undecorated one. It may not have been “the usual,”… but I think it was even better.
